The truck is a 08 F250 powerstroke deisle, has been back @ dealership 4 times for oil leak. Mechanics said thats the way Ford enginnered the new engine to operate, due to emmissions. Just dont sound right to me.

Ford Announces a Free "Reflash" to Boost Output in F-Series Super Duty Diesel
Owners of the 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty diesel can take their trucks into a dealership for a free software upgrade to boost performance. The upgrade to the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbocharged diesel, provided through the truck's powertrain control module, will deliver an increase of 65 pound-feet of torque and 10 horsepower. Ford claims it is now best in class, with 800 lb.-ft. of torque and 400 horsepower.
Ford and Chevrolet trucks are battling it out to be king of the hill with their dueling announcements of power increases. According to Ford, the reflash will mean that the Super Duty diesel "reclaims F-350 towing and payload leadership vs. Chevrolet Silverado 3500 ." Power increases usually come with a drop off in fuel economy, but in this case, Ford is saying the diesel now offers 20 percent better fuel economy compared to the previous generation Powerstroke engine.
